Icicles in the Refrigerator

About two weeks after my very first pollination attempt, I had another flower in bloom: Cattleya Claesiana (blue strain).

I still had pollen in the refrigerator from the LC Schilleriana that I used in my first hybrid, so I got it out and made a cross that I later discovered was appropriately named LC Icicle.  The Royal Horticultural Society maintains the International Orchid Register; this is the official database to look up Orchid names and parentage, and it's where I discovered the name of this cross.

At this point I am starting to think not just "hey neat, a seed pod", but "what if I grew up new orchids from these seeds?"  Stay Tuned!
